Shipping & Returns


After Eight is always open for you to shop from our conscious collection of slow fashion and brands led by sustainable practices.

Your order will be processed between 1-2 business days of receipt and dispatched from our Hobart boutique. 

Australia-wide shipping

After Eight offers free standard shipping for orders over $350.

$15 flat rate for standard shipping under $350.

$20 flat rate for Express Post.

Expected postage times

Standard Post: 2 – 10 business days

Express Post: 1 – 4 business days

Most parcels are arriving on time, but delays may be experienced due to Australia Post operations being affected COVID-19 and unforeseen weather events. 

International shipping

All international orders are sent via Australia Post Intl or DHL Express for a flat rate of $35.

After Eight does not cover any additional duties, customs or taxes applied to orders. These additional costs are not calculated in the product costing, or shipping cost for any order and are at the receiver’s expense.

Tracking your order

To ensure a smooth delivery, please ensure all your contact details (including phone number, email address and postal address) are accurate.

We will email you an Australia Post tracking number (or DHL for international shipping) when we dispatch your order. To track your order please follow the links in the email.

Parcels must be signed for upon delivery, unless you have selected otherwise when Australia Post notifies you, via SMS, that your parcel is out for delivery.


Returns Policy

After Eight happily accepts returns for a refund or credit for online purchases within 7 days of receipt for full priced After Eight pieces and 5 days for pre-loved by After Eight pieces, providing they meet the terms of our returns policy, set out below.

For purchases made in our Hobart Boutique we offer an exchange or store credit if the product is returned within 7 days of purchase. 

Returned items must be unworn, unused and in perfect condition with all original tags and packaging attached. Items that don’t meet these standards risk being returned to the customer.

After Eight does not offer returns or refunds on accessories including jewellery or swimwear.

Sale items are final sale. We do not offer refunds, exchanges or store credits on any sale item ordered.

ROMY Promo: Spend $400 or more on Romy products and receive a free Blue or Black Knit Tank. Tank added to checkout once requirement's are met.

If any part of the $400+ Romy order is returned the free gift tank must also be returned. If you wish to keep the tank but return another item, the cost of the tank will be deducted from your refund or store credit.

To arrange your return, please get in touch with us by emailing Please include your order number and product details in the email.

We will notify you once your return has been received and approved. Once your return has been received, your refund or credit note will be processed, less shipping costs. Please allow up to 10 days for processing.

Order changes and cancellations

Once we have received your order, it cannot be cancelled. We will do our best to accomodate any order changes, however, once the order has been processed and dispatched we are unable to make any order changes.

The Fine Print

Returns received outside of 7 days (for full price) and 5 days (for pre-loved) may be accepted at the sole and absolute discretion of After Eight.

Returned items must be unworn, unused and in perfect condition with all original tags and packaging attached. Garments received soiled or with make-up marks will not be accepted for exchange or return and will be sent back to the customer at the customer’s expense.

Returns sent outside of the Return Request process must be sent via registered post or by other such means or carrier of your choice, which provides proof of posting and delivery. All returns or exchanges sent to After Eight must have a valid tracking number. After Eight is not liable for items lost in transit. If After Eight has supplied your return shipping label, you do not need to provide tracking details.

Where the items fail to be of acceptable quality, and the failure does not amount to a major failure, After Eight is entitled to choose between providing you with a repair, replacement or other suitable solution. Exchange of items is subject to availability. After Eight classifies items to be faulty (i.e. not acceptable quality) if they are received damaged, or where a manufacturing fault occurs within 3 months of purchase. Items that are damaged as a result of wear are not considered to be faulty.

After Eight will issue a refund to the original card used for purchase within 7 business days of receipt of a return, less incurred shipping costs. A refund for faulty items will include the full value of the items returned, including the relevant taxes, shipping or return delivery costs.

For international returns, After Eight recommends indicating on the packaging that the items are intended ‘Returned Goods’ or ‘For Exchange’ to avoid additional custom duties and taxes. Please ensure adequate insurance is taken for the safe delivery of your order. All international customers are obliged to pay for their goods to be returned. 

None of the above affects your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Our pieces may come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, for example you may be entitled to an exchange or refund for a major problem with your piece (or in some instances, repair or replacement if the pieces are not of acceptable quality) and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
